I Survived!

Last weekend was a very big weekend for me - Memorial weekend, my birthday, a trip to Las Vegas, and, most importantly, I left my baby for the first time for longer than one night.  This was a very difficult thing for me to do.  Although she's almost one year old already, I had only been separated from her overnight once.

On Friday evening my mom came down to Omaha and took Cameryn home with her.  It was very difficult for me to watch her drive away with my baby.  I didn't sleep very well that night missing her already.  However, once we got on the airplane it became a little less painful.

My mom kept her from Friday night through Monday afternoon.  She sent pictures and text message updates on what they were doing and how my baby was.  That made the whole experience a little easier.  I didn't feel like I was so far away from her.

Although Aric and I had a great time in Vegas celebrating two weddings and my birthday, I was more than ready to go home by the time our plane left early Tuesday evening.  I was never worried or scared about leaving my daughter for that long, I just missed her a lot.  I even missed waking up in the middle of the night when she fusses in her sleep looking for her binky.

Our little 5-day vacation was a nice break from the teething and diaper changing, but I can easily promise my baby girl that it will be quite a while before I leave her for that long again.

Who could leave this adorable little girl?
