Happy Birthday!!!!
Happy 2nd Birthday Cameryn!!! I can't believe how much you've grown and learned! You're no longer my baby - you're a big girl! It amazes me how quickly you learn - you're a little mimic. There are so many things I hope and wish for you as you continue to grow into a lady.
1. You have so much personality and joy. I sincerely hope that you will always find joy in life and will continue to enjoy your individuality.
2. You are very independent and a quick learner. Because of these traits I believe that you will become a strong woman.
3. You are beautiful - inside and out. It melts my heart to hear you say "pretty mommy" as you wrap your arms around my neck or hear you say "love you daddy". Please don't ever stop sharing your feelings.
4. You are very considerate. You've always been very good at sharing whether it was sharing food with the puppy or toys with your friends. Hopefully that will never change.
5. It makes me very proud that you are a polite little girl...at least as much as a 2-year-old can be. One of the first words you learned to say was "thank you".
There are so many things that I love about you and so many more that I want to say. But, as I sit here and think about how quickly the last two years have gone, the most important thing is that I love you. I love everything about you and I love how you've made my life even better. I consider myself extremely blessed that my little girl has shown these qualities in your short life.
I love you baby peanut! Happy Birthday!!

Our Top Ten
Several weeks ago my sister-in-law shared my niece's list of favorite books. Cameryn and I found several on the list that we'd never read. Since that list was so helpful to us, I thought I'd share our list and hopefully add a few names to someone else's list. And a big thank you to Aunt Nicole - one of those books has become a great favorite of Cameryn's. In no particular order, here's our Top Ten Favorite Books to read at bedtime.
3.![I Love You More Than Rainbows [Book] I Love You More Than Rainbows [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_voCA3MxfacgEgpQz-SjvaUObQNXTFblQh1Bw9Xezf6UxcLChWhRRe_TxEVzpOXDbLaC_-zpNDwwj9eEkNAsiOE5XZajpzUo6M2G8CmVxU_lWKbHmwoDeoS-93zVScTbi2y-JubYgFRlwsQ1n2h8HVoPIIaS6Hj4Q=s0-d)
This was one of Faith's favorites and has become one of Cameryn's as well.
4.![God Gave Us You [Book] God Gave Us You [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_sHoTAtGLcBigMNXUB1CT3IQy-mCY80mv9ip5_gIb6A2AhtLisJ4wVgmiOkIPU7RtL_hmIT6ELutsf4dYxdfnDH78AbzSk4iTHpMZvD7Q1qXlS8K_ajnlv3T7xNKuRlNNz0ZYSPMDujaLcZ7hy4J98rl-_G_-vIlQ=s0-d)
What a great book this is! My little girl is truly a gift from God.
5.![Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed Lap Board Book [Book] Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed Lap Board Book [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_uhJ3pUOZ-FSM3N1WJH1G85aejeRjuhMTH704NT67uHRct9VabQlkL3eNvM10uXOmoEtCUdrV9zrwUSVeCclcb3ZoMO7p0fh-NtkBXXuhcJcJlVHRBmDV86nBKcnLZn9pikNKcUSb6FehMIblebF_hpFM74NKD_bw=s0-d)
I love watching Cameryn shake her finger and sternly say "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" It's not quite that clear yet but it's obvious that's what she's trying to say. :-)
6.![Snuggle Puppy: a little love song [Book] Snuggle Puppy: a little love song [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_u__Ko3Hn2ByO5SQOWevDR7yL-vvlil7O4SqX5bXA9Xe3UfXp0OPeQyqcw0rycjSv86Yr4tHBVx0_O7yWifjWGZyXoIFmcT6H-WoNTShhrO5Y2E5mD_5kuDZe64j1U5vfK30zZkO3mZtE6qjM7eyg5y8IJ5jBOZMg=s0-d)
I think Cameryn likes this book just because she thinks it's so funny to hear me sing. Lol!
7.![You Are My I Love You [Book] You Are My I Love You [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_vroPy45ThWvHK4MnOkzej4VTJ7ouqEj_O7gJM2XvHoJxlccCvLrEsxyThwhpVmIj4m8qAavxFJFkrhSnmlBTKdBjA-FUn_-8tuLc-osYPW_Vw-G7uz2kN5bugHnnc4_MsVzalWv-RlnIVyi4GT_1Nmio0XTp5FfA=s0-d)
Cameryn is my everything but especially my "I Love You".
8.![Goodnight moon [Book] Goodnight moon [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_tpKh4rokOxmIc5KNqoSlfd1FseeKIJcOJbvdvWRIwAnbYKqvCamB7r28MmKLqeuWQgc3VmR6TtpIoHageYkOna9IxIVABIslMowFoYDqVM9PZSKxLQmpcmB0t4k-RSREeNRGi3RFODr_xoLEAQzOo5Lcbz0ZAt=s0-d)
Just like the story Cameryn says "night night" to everything on our way up to her bed. Night night to each of the tickles (aka Clyde, Tigger & Boo) and night night to Loki after hugs and kisses to Daddy.
9.![Elmo Loves You! [Book] Elmo Loves You! [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_toGzc75drigHPnk0_FHbh-iktu73fjpJbDfkGVDz4k0No9tSi5PUDOR7gllzXZRErGkxwypVUDR-2djGFtVby9vE-Ewh5E_f36w5j-Qt3Xwq8TxOdTvczV9S5E_O36uCaQki42y85KuFWkQyca6Xqxukdlw6RUJA=s0-d)
Again, I think this is a favorite because Mama attempts to use an "Elmo" voice. And she loves to give Elmo a kiss!
10.![Love and Kisses [Book] Love and Kisses [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_uzhQhDVWdIDkCOO1Hf9OiCociQGNmWVBT-O5oiy3BRbmO24mbjexuf5HWCaMJU8CSe-wqlO8QHEqHGxDLAn6T4eS7qvV3XqFUiX4nIy3LFB1G-cX2gVoL7WQsSIR2Ut4_vcTG-7ugjLcL-x1LB8vni7YwKTZc24A=s0-d)
This book caught my eye because I almost always ask for loves and kisses instead of hugs and kisses. Cameryn likes this book because of all the animals that receive love and kisses.
Although these have become Cameryn's favorites to read at bedtime there are plenty of others that she likes to read. It warms my heart every time I'm worried because she's quiet and see that she's "reading" a book. I'm so glad that it appears I've already been able to share a love of books with my daughter. This is something that we'll always be able to share.
I hope that there's at least one book in our list that we'll be able to share with you.

My Aunt Catherine gave Cameryn this book at her baby shower. It's one of the first that she pulls off the shelf at "night night" time.
2. ![I Love You All the Time [Book] I Love You All the Time [Book]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_t5qS6Tq3lx6RIL9XTL391ZE2_1qrXsWsTrMRjdMNqJPH9ESO2jpMn2pPY5EmEp8aaQLZh4pWIc8GVtoefhmi1kwkKSuFO43vYbbwlJYPKkr0PU0SWxeAJGlzf5HLCleg_qZwCT24HCMUIsv8Cn6Spg6LmryA2oug=s0-d)
This is a great story that explains that no matter what I'll always love my baby.

A New Year
After a great Christmas spent with family and friends, I was more than ready to start a new year. Rather than make a resolution that I knew I wouldn't keep (I've never been able to keep one in the past), I decided to set some goals to work on throughout the year.
Here are my 12 goals for 2012 (in no particular order):
1. Spend more time playing with my daughter. Cameryn is growing up so fast! She's no longer a baby - she's a little person. She's learning something new every day and I want to make sure that I get to experience all of it.
2. Make time for date nights. Although I love my daughter beyond belief, I love my husband too. We both need to make sure that we have some grown-up time as well as play time with Cam.
3. Exercise more.
4. Eat better. Rather than make a goal of losing weight and probably failing, I decided that focusing on exercising and eating better would end with the same results but would be easier for me to attain.
5. Conduct Spring cleaning. I want to use a spare room as a playroom for Cameryn but can't even consider it until it's cleaned out. My goal is to have a garage sale and use the money to buy a big girl bed for my little lady.
6. Reconnect with old friends. Now that I have a "real" job (meaning no nights, weekends, or holidays) I'd love to reconnect with some friends from high school and college that I've lost touch with over the years. Facebook has helped me to start that process.
7. Have more mommy-daughter days. Aric is so lucky! He typically has 2 days off during the week when the majority of our family is working or in school. Cameryn and Aric spend those days together playing outside, going to the zoo or museum, and just hanging out. Sometimes they visit some friends but they mostly hang out just the two of them. My days off are on the weekends and Cam and I spend most of that time rotating visits between family members. It seems like most weekends that we're home, someone is down visiting or we have other plans. I would like to set aside at least 2 days a month for just the 2 of us to spend together.
8. Have a project. Right now I haven't decided for sure what I want to do but I'm leaning toward planting a garden in the spring. I've never done it before and I've killed every plant I've been given but it seems like a good challenge. However I'm open to suggestions.
9. Read a book. Before I had Cameryn I loved to read. It was nothing for me to read a book or two a week. While I was pregnant I had trouble focusing so didn't spend a whole lot of time reading. And since then, I'd much rather play with Cameryn than read. And it's very difficult to focus on a book with an 18-month-old running around a yelling every other word. I'd really like to enjoy a good book again.
10. Watch less TV. During the year that I was unemployed I got hooked on several TV shows. Now I find myself watching more TV than I ever have before. My goal is to cut down on the amount of time the TV is on, especially when Cameryn and I are playing. There's no need to have it on in the background as a distraction.
11. Organize my house and my life. I am extremely organized at work. I have to be able to find what I need. My house is a whole other story. It's gotten a little out of control which I need to remedy.
12. Relax and enjoy. It seems like I'm always on the go or have a list of things that I need to enjoy. Even when I take the time to just relax I feel guilty because I should be doing 30 other things. I'm going to set aside a certain amount of time each day to just relax.
I've already made progress on several of these goals. I'm looking forward to a great 2012!!!
